My Story

Originally from Taiwan, I am now based in Tokyo and founded Miramar Japan Golf & Travel to specialize in golf journeys, private chauffeur service, and custom itineraries across Japan. Over the years, I have spent substantial time studying the golf courses, accommodation options, and travel routes around Mt. Fuji, and have turned that hands-on experience into a planning approach that works in real travel conditions.

To me, a well-planned golf trip in Japan is not just about booking tee times. Course selection, hotel quality, travel direction, tee-off timing, and the overall flow of each day all need to fit together as one smooth and enjoyable journey. That is how Miramar approaches planning, and it is what sets us apart from services that simply make reservations on behalf of travelers.

I have spent close to thirty years in the travel industry, leading groups across six continents and more than eighty countries. After relocating to Japan, I focused more deeply on the golf routes around Mt. Fuji, not only because of the concentration of courses in the region, but because of the deeper context behind them. Volcanic terrain, elevation, water systems, course design, and Japan’s private membership club structure all shape the experience of playing golf here. These are the factors that quietly determine how a journey should be structured.

The observations and experience accumulated over the years were eventually developed into my book, Waiting for 21 People: Golf, Order, and the Journey Around Mt. Fuji. The book examines the Mt. Fuji golf region through the lens of geography, culture, and institutional structure, and has become an important foundation for how Miramar plans journeys today.

Miramar mainly works with private travelers and small groups of two or more, creating complete itineraries that combine golf, ryokan stays, transportation flow, and local execution. My role is not simply to provide a list of golf courses, but to think through the journey as a whole and take care of the details that may not be obvious, yet make a meaningful difference to the overall experience.
